Preorder Guru ‑ Back in Stock (“the App”) is a product of Web Framez Pvt. Ltd. The App provides preorder management, back-in-stock alerts, and related functionality — “the Service” — to merchants who use Shopify to power their stores.

This Privacy Policy describes how personal information is collected, used, and shared when you install or use the App in connection with your Shopify-supported store.

By installing or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Who We Are

Preorder Guru ‑ Back in Stock is developed and operated by Web Framez Pvt. Ltd., registered in Punjab, India. We build Shopify apps designed to help merchants manage product availability, recover lost sales through preorders, and re-engage customers with back-in-stock notifications.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information to provide the Service:

2.1 Merchant Information

Upon installation, we collect:

  • Shopify store name, domain, and URL
  • Merchant name and email address
  • Access tokens granted by Shopify to interact with your store’s API
  • Store configuration, theme, and settings data
  • Product, variant, inventory, and order data (to manage preorder rules and stock levels)

2.2 Customer Information

When a customer places a preorder or signs up for a back-in-stock alert, we may collect:

  • Name and email address (for order confirmation and back-in-stock notifications)
  • Phone number (if provided for SMS notifications)
  • Products and variants the customer preordered or expressed interest in
  • Preorder date, expected fulfilment date, and order status
  • Payment method type (processed and stored securely by Shopify Payments — we do not store full card details)
  • Partial or full deposit payment details where applicable
  • Shopify customer ID and order ID
  • Back-in-stock alert subscription preferences
  • Partial store information (e.g. store domain)

2.3 Technical & Usage Data

We automatically collect certain technical data when the App is used:

  • IP address and approximate geographic location
  • Web browser type, version, and operating system
  • Device type, time zone, and screen information
  • Referring and exit pages, date/time stamps
  • Error logs and App performance diagnostics

2.4 Cookies & Tracking Technologies

The App may use the following technologies:

  • Cookies: Small data files placed on a visitor’s device, often including an anonymous unique identifier. You can control or disable cookies via your browser settings at allaboutcookies.org.
  • Log files: Records of actions on the site, including IP address, browser type, ISP, and date/time stamps.
  • Web beacons, tags, and pixels: Electronic files used to record browsing behaviour on the site.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the preorder and back-in-stock features of the App
  • Enable merchants to configure preorder rules, badges, and buttons on their store
  • Process and track customer preorders and notify merchants of new preorder activity
  • Send customers back-in-stock alert emails or SMS when a subscribed product becomes available
  • Send preorder confirmation and fulfilment update notifications to customers
  • Manage partial deposit and full payment workflows for preorders
  • Show merchants preorder and inventory analytics and reporting
  • Communicate with merchants about the App, updates, and support
  • Improve and optimise App performance and features
  • Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, or security issues
  • Comply with applicable laws, regulations, and Shopify Partner Program requirements
  • Send merchants relevant information about our products or services (you may opt out at any time)

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

4.1 With Merchants

Preorder and back-in-stock subscriber data (including customer contact details, product interests, and order activity) is accessible to the merchant through their App dashboard so they can manage fulfilment and send notifications.

4.2 With Service Providers

We work with trusted third-party providers (cloud hosting, email and SMS delivery services, analytics platforms, customer support tools) who are contractually bound to use data only to provide services to us and to maintain appropriate data protections.

4.3 With Shopify

Our App is built on the Shopify platform. Shopify processes certain merchant and customer data as part of its infrastructure. Please refer to Shopify’s Privacy Policy for details.

4.4 For Legal Compliance

We may disclose personal information if required by law, court order, subpoena, or other lawful government request, or where necessary to protect our legal rights or the safety of our users.

4.5 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, personal data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify affected merchants and users of any such change.

We may use your information to deliver targeted advertisements or marketing communications we believe may be of interest to you, based on your usage of the App.

6. Data Retention

  • All personal data collected via the App is retained only for as long as the App is installed on your store.
  • When you uninstall the App, all data stored in our systems associated with your store is permanently deleted within 30 days of uninstallation.
  • Back-in-stock subscriber email addresses are retained only until the alert is sent or the subscriber opts out.
  • Anonymised or aggregated data (which cannot identify any individual) may be retained for analytical purposes beyond this period.
  • Where legally required to retain certain data (e.g. order or payment records), we retain only the minimum necessary for the legally required period.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security practices to protect your personal information, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit via HTTPS/TLS
  • Secure storage with access controls limiting who can view personal data
  • Regular security reviews and vulnerability assessments
  • Secure Shopify OAuth token handling
  • We do not store full payment card details — all payment processing is handled by Shopify Payments

While we take all reasonable steps to protect your data, no system is entirely immune to breaches. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected parties in accordance with applicable law.

8. Your Rights & Choices

8.1 General Rights (All Users)

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or outdated data
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal retention obligations)
  • Opt-out of alerts: Unsubscribe from back-in-stock notifications at any time via the unsubscribe link in any alert email
  • Opt-out of marketing: Unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time by contacting us directly

8.2 European Residents (GDPR)

If you are in the EU/EEA, you have rights under GDPR including the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your data, and the right to data portability.

Our legal bases for processing include: performance of a contract, legitimate business interests, compliance with legal obligations, and consent where obtained.

You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

8.3 California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to request deletion, the right to opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information), and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights.

8.4 Indian Residents (DPDP Act 2023)

In accordance with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, Indian residents have the right to access information about their personal data, correct inaccurate data, and request erasure of data that is no longer necessary for the purpose it was collected.

9. Children's Privacy

Preorder Guru ‑ Back in Stock is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data through our App without parental consent, please contact us immediately and we will delete that information promptly.

10. International Data Transfers

As an India-based company serving merchants globally, your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including India, the United States, and other jurisdictions where our service providers operate.

Where required by applicable law (such as GDPR), we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international data transfers, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or other legally recognised mechanisms.

11. Shopify App Store Compliance

As a Shopify Partner, we comply with Shopify’s Partner Program Agreement and API usage policies. We request only the minimum data access necessary for the App to function, and we do not use data accessed via Shopify APIs for any purpose beyond those disclosed in this Privacy Policy.

12. Third-Party Links

Our App or website may contain links to third-party websites or services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third-party sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any external services you visit.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will:

  • Update the Effective Date at the top of this Policy
  • Notify merchants via email or an in-app notification
  • Post the updated Policy on our website

Continued use of the App after the updated Policy takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the changes.

14. Law and Jurisdiction

This Privacy Policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of India. Any disputes arising in connection with this Privacy Policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Punjab, India.
